An opportunity came up to visit a client site with Amac. We brought a DP packaged as a single Docker image into LG C&S, and I was incredibly nervous.
I was worried whether it would work, but when we ran the Docker image on the GPU server, it worked perfectly, so I could breathe easy going in. There was one little incident though -- at a cafe, I tried to copy the Docker image to the iMac's home folder, and the file nearly got corrupted. It was a file I had uploaded in an environment with good internet, but I uploaded it again thinking it wasn't there.
Thankfully, the SHA sum wasn't broken.
Changhyun, who packaged the model into a single Docker file, is truly amazing, and the DevOps engineers at LG C&S who deployed it smoothly on Kubernetes were equally impressive.
Watching them switch back and forth between GCP and AWS dashboards, accessing various clusters and firing off commands was really cool. There was a senior engineer typing commands in the terminal, and a team leader supervising from the side -- their teamwork looked incredible. I thought to myself, I want to become someone who can handle things that skillfully and expertly, not just for show.
This is a situation where you can't afford to not know things precisely. A situation where not knowing is not an option. My lack of knowledge is being fully exposed.
I need to become the Usain Bolt of the terminal. I need to get comfortable with copying and pasting text in the terminal, uploading and downloading models in AWS and GCP environments, pulling from S3 -- all of it. Let me give it my all for the next 3 weeks.
The experience of visiting the client site with Amac today was truly wonderful. Can I pull my own weight too?
An interview is about showing the concentrated essence of your life in a short time. The terminal is the same. How efficiently and effectively you use the computer you work on all day seems like a compressed view of how you live your life.
Hakyoung, who apparently started using the terminal just 3 months ago, seems to have incredible skills too. The way the team trusts each other and moves forward as one was truly admirable. I want to pull my own weight too.
Let me develop at least one thing I'm better at than others.
The attitude of waiting for someone to grow and giving advice to help them improve further, rather than pointing out their mistakes. So they don't feel discouraged and can do even better.
And the attitude of being humble.
Container technology and cloud technology seem truly incredible. And I realize my growth at LINE was only a tiny, tiny fraction of what's possible.

Let me not be complacent. And when studying from books, let me type things out myself and make them my own. Life is a real game. You need to meet people. I made the right move changing jobs.
Changhyun, iMac, Seungyeop, Seungho, Kyle -- every single one of them is so precious and amazing. Team Leader Kim Young-guk said he was still studying, and those words felt so powerful. Night is precious too, and the development tasks Changhyun is assigning seem intense, so I need to work hard.
Everything moves at an incredible pace. How complacently had I been living?

How does Seungyeop maintain such consistent humility and do such a great job with onboarding? Changhyun seems to work magic. Hakyoung -- could she be that diligent? Sincere and well-spoken? Seungho -- can he quietly push through hardships and work like the Usain Bolt of coding?
