I'm Not Good at Languages

Just because I can read English doesn't mean I'm good at it. You can only truly say you know how to fully utilize English as a language when you demonstrate the ability to actually understand it and communicate with people. I realized this while studying Japanese. I had been under the illusion that I knew things about Korean simply because I could read it (being a phonetic script). And I learned that vocabulary is what lies behind the ability to speak well.

When it comes to using a language, you inevitably need the process of making mistakes through OUTPUT, the experience of correcting those mistakes, and the experience of growing through learning. And as that output accumulates, it becomes the confident skill that pushes through difficulties. Everyone wants to speak, and everyone feels grateful when someone listens to them seriously.

Let's speak more. Let's write more. If there are words we don't know, let's look them up.

The Experience of Reaching the Highest Level in at Least One Thing

VR table tennis taught me many lessons and gave me many insights. What ultimately protects me is skill - the essence of table tennis. No matter how bad I am at speaking or maintaining relationships, as long as I'm within the platform of table tennis games, that skill is respected. I think the real world is the same. In this capitalist world created by humans, "money" is close to an absolute essence, and appearance and linguistic ability inevitably have their value recognized.

HBase is not user-friendly, and it seems like it will gradually fade out. If I could go to Toss Securities as a data engineer through the connection Sunwoo made, that would be really great. But since my experience as a data engineer isn't extensive, the chances probably aren't high.

The Power of Consistency, Trees and Forests

If you try to achieve something in a sudden short period of time (e.g., tech stack, language), you can become overwhelmed by the pressure and end up doing nothing. If there are things I need to do now (for example, writing a resume, studying for English certifications, studying tech stacks), let's look at the long term and focus on doing our best with what's right in front of us. If I need to study Japanese, let's deeply understand one word. If it's programming, let's pour my heart into one line of code.
